![]() The West High School Foundation (WHSF)
WHSF represents a group of dedicated volunteer parents and supporters of West High School. It was established in 1996 to promote academic excellence at West High School (WHS) by raising funds that provide opportunities for the students and faculty that otherwise would not be available. It's a model of a racially, economically and academically diverse high school performing well. The primary WHSF focus areas are the following: (a) encourage staff development and retention, (b) support academic excellence, (c) expand technology resources, and (d) improve WHS facilities. The foundation has an annual phone-a-thon and periodic direct mailings to communicate with parents and solicit donations.†West High School has raised over $900,000 since its inception. Through this effort, WHSF has purchased computers, provided educational grants, upgraded the library materials, and enhanced technology around the campus.
